Rindge School of Technical Arts: Learn About RSTA: A Legacy of Excellence

Founded in 1888 by Fredrick H. Rindge, The Cambridge Manual Training School quickly became a national model of a successful technical high school. From the early days to its integration as the city's Career and Technical Educational (CTE) program within the city's comprehensive high school, the Rindge School of Technical Arts (RSTA) has been providing students with opportunities to learn and to sharpen career skills for over a hundred years.

Our goal is to tie the rich history and accomplishments of past students to a new, modernized program that prepares students for a successful life in the 21st century. School spirit and pride give students the confidence to try new classes and learn about emerging technologies.

The future will be challenging. Manual and industrial education has become high-tech in most fields, creating a job market for people with specialized skills that didn't exist just fifteen years ago. With our new programs in place and our renovated lab spaces, students at CRLS may now benefit from exposure to the latest tools, computer programs, and demanding curriculum that has been aligned with the most recent research about local and regional economic trends.
